Neck Rope

A neck rope is usually used when riding a horse without a bridle or at liberty. They help riders communicate signals to their horses.

When riding with a neck rope, the rider should be able to communicate with the horse mainly through his seat. The neck rope should rest on the horse’s chest, allowing the rider to give short signals to the horse with light hands.
