Piaffe

The piaffe is a dressage movement in which the horse trots in place, with forehand elevated and croup lowered.

Correct piaffe requires:

  • A high degree of collection of the horse
  • Lightness of the front end
  • Responsiveness of the horse to the rider’s aids
