Reach

The reach refers to how deep the horse steps under his center of gravity with his hind legs in any given gait.

  • Tracking up: When the hind legs of the horse step exactly where the front legs were.
  • Over tracking: When the hind legs of the horse step further than where the front legs were.
  • Under tracking: When the hind legs of the horse do not step as far as where the front legs were.
