Weight Aids

Weight aids are related to the seat of the rider. The rider uses his weight – usually through his seat bones – to communicate signals to his horse.

Weight aids can be used to communicate energy to the horse and therefore encourage him to move forward, or on the contrary to decrease the energy levels and slow the horse down.

Lateral weight aids refer to the use of the seat to encourage the horse to go towards one direction or another.
