Malakil Part 1: First time lunging & saddling the young horse 2017-03-16T00:00:00+01:00

The three-year-old Arabian stallion Malakil is owned by the Marbach Main and State Stud and is only seeing Anja Beran's riding arena for the third time. When lunging for the first time, the trainer has to pay attention to numerous things so that the horse gets a good first working experience.

Understanding the commands given by the trainer and developing trust are parts of the early training of young horses. In this video, our classical dressage expert shows how Malakil works without stress.

In order to ensure security for horse and trainer, a few questions need to be answered in advance: What is the appropriate equipment? Are helpers needed? What are the first body & voice commands to teach? How can I do it? Where do I position myself? What to expect from a three-year-old horse? Anja Beran has the answers for you!
